Alfred A. Lovato, Jr M.D.

Dr. Lovato is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and laser surgery.
His family has provided quality eye care to New Mexicans since 1963. Dr. Lovato received his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of California at Berkeley. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Lovato completed his residency in ophthalmology at Boston University. He completed a fellowship in the Ocular Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Lovato received specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular tumors from renowned eye tumor specialist, Devron H. Char, MD. He is one of only two ocular tumor specialists in New Mexico.

Dr. Lovato has been in private practice in Albuquerque since 1980. He is a member of many professional medical organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and served as president of the Hispanic Medical Association of New Mexico. He has received numerous awards for outstanding service to the community.

In his spare time Dr. Lovato enjoys his family and playing tennis and golf.

Dr. Charles Schulte O.D.

Dr. Schulte is a board certified optometrist and specializes in primary eye care and contact lenses. He did his undergraduate work at the University of San Diego and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry.

After serving in the United States Navy, Dr. Schulte established a private practice in Lakeside, California. Because of his growing interest in community healthcare he eventually left private practice to develop the Vision Clinic at Family Health Centers of San Diego. Shortly thereafter he was appointed director of Quality Assurance.

Dr. Schulte is a member of many professional optometric organizations, including the American Optometric Association. He is committed to serving the community and is an active member of the Lions Club.

Dr. Schulte relocated to Albuquerque to be closer to family. In his spare time he enjoys relaxing with his family, going to the movies and playing golf.
